New Year
January 3, 2012
Happy New Year to everyone. After an all too quick vacation, life is resuming and back to the writing and practicing and working out and day-to-day fun stuff and not-so-fun stuff. I am exicted that The Art of Getting By is now OnDemand. It's always surreal to hear something I wrote and sung on television and even more surreal it being in a movie. I am ever so grateful though. With many warm wishes and wonderful things to you all. Have a wonderful new year. October 27, 2011
It's appeared to me I've focused primarily on being a composer rather than a singer/songerwriter/performer. Perhaps it's a temporary break, a three year long one. I do have many songs in various stages and perhaps I'll eventually give up the ghost on them and get them out to you or family or friends. In the meantime, they sit on my hard drives longing to be finished, hence the three years in the making.
In the world of geekdome, I've become happilly immersed in the various ProTools plug-ins and all the amazing weird effects and sounds our (Matt's and my) library has. It's allowed me to be super creative for the shows I've been blessed enough to write music on. As for my songs, I just finished the construction of one I wrote last weekend called, "Not Supposed to Be." A strange lyrical content about feeling elation in a circumstance where one would or should feel either terror or sadness. Perhaps it's called shock. "I was strangely calm, numbers in my head. I'm not supposed to be this light, not supposed to feel this, right?" It was one of those little blessings that nearly writes itself and reminds us creative people there is something beyond our power and we are merely conductors of otherwordly energy. Perhaps that's just my feeling on it. It would be a shame if my songs lived only on my hard drive so here's to the will power and drive to keep working through the production of the songs. |
